MC Kickboxing & Fitness prides itself on producing great technical fighters. The techniques the students learn is built over a period of time and only when they can attain a good level can the student grade.

- Restrain an attacker (take downs/ground pins/strikes/releases/headlocks)

- Left Side Kick > Turning Back Kick (Rear Leg) > Jumping Front Kick
- 3 x random combinations assigned on the day
Sparring

Brown 3rd KYU
- The student must illustrate the ability to coach both basic and advanced techniques presented by the examiner.
- The student must be able to recall all moves from the syllabus upon request.
- The student must be able to produce and demonstrate both basic and advanced combinations.
Leg techniques
- Double jumping front (crash mat required)
Pad work
- 4 x 2 minute of boxing drills assigned by the examiner.
- 3 x 2 minute rounds of kicking drills assigned by the examiner
Sparring
- 3 x 2 minute rounds of semi contact sparring
- 2 x 1 minute rounds coaching a novice on the basics of sparring.
- (Multiple attackers can be used when sparring.)
Grappling & ground techniques
- 2 x chokes
- 2 x arm locks
- 2 x throws
- Defence against multiple attacker using both Grappling and striking techniques
Fitness test
- 60 press ups
- 80 sit ups
- 80 squat thrusts
Brown/White 2nd KYU
- The student must demonstrate the ability to coach advanced techniques presented by the examiner, taken from previous grading’s.
- The student must be able to take an effective warm up and understand what happens to the body and why we warm up.
- Demonstrate pressure points, names and their uses.
Drills
- 4x 2 mins boxing drills
- 4×2 mins Kicking drills
Sparring
- 2x 3 min rounds of semi contact sparring 1 minute rest
Fitness test
- 70 press ups
- 90 sit ups
- 90 squat thrusts
Brown/Black 1st KYU
- The student must be able to take the lesson under supervision showing structure and drills.
- The student must produce a lesson plan and follow it with timings and content adhered to.
- During the lesson effectively demonstrate any techniques required answering to the students requests.
- The content must be of the lesson plan must contain basic and complex drills
- If the lesson is not complex enough the assessor may intervene and the student will fail the grading
- Student must demonstrate a series of 10 flowing moves emphasising: balance/style and fluidity.
Fitness test ( to be taken separately in another lesson)
- 80 push ups
- 100 sit ups
- 100 squat thrusts
1st Dan
- Assessment begins with covering all previous belts (selected by senior instructor)
- The student must illustrate the following before being considered for a black belt grading
- 1 Years assistant coaching under the supervision of an existing instructor Black Belt
- Have a good training attendance record
- First Aid trained
- Completed student evaluation forms
- Assessment of coaching skills to a group of novice Kickboxers
- Demonstrate 2 new combination moves to potentially be included in our training syllabus.
- 3 x 2 minute rounds of pad work (combinations provided on the day)
- 5 x 2 minute rounds of sparring (Semi/full contact)

- 100 push ups
- 100 crunches
- 100 squat thrusts
